Long Lake Estates is a gated family friendly neighborhood that is located in southeast Shreveport just off of Ellerbe Road. The subdivision was initially started in the 1980’s and has managed to retain its popularity today. Currently there are approximately 370 families living in the neighborhood and there are new lots available for purchase. It is built around the lake known as Long Lake which serves as a natural waterfowl habitat. The public schools that service this neighborhood are University Elementary, Youree Drive Middle School and Captain Shreve High Schools. There are also private school and magnet school options.
There are also fishing and boating options for the homeowners. (no swimming or skiing ). Residents walk, run and bike frequently around the neighborhood. Meticulous landscaping, upkeep of the neutral grounds and streets, and an active Homeowners Association keep the neighborhood looking great and the property values stable.
The neighborhood is gated and the gates are closed with security guards on duty from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. seven days a week.
The homeowners dues are $500.00 per year and are due by January 1 or there is a late fee instituted. The annual homeowners meeting takes place every February and homeowners are encouraged to participate and make their voices heard. The Long Lake Board of Directors consists of a president and 5 rotating board members. The subdivision is governed by the board and the covenants that have been adopted.
Besides the family atmosphere of the neighborhood it is convenient to shopping, medical services and entertainment of all kinds. Homes here range from $300,000 to over a million.
